West Meade is a neighborhood adjacent to Belle Meade, characterized by brick ranch homes built in the 1950s and 1960s. Over the past few years, it has become a particularly popular area for infill development due to the desirability of its large lot sizes, most an acre or more. Now West Meade is a mix of ranch homes and new construction homes, especially along particular streets such as Jocelyn Hollow. Renovation is also common in this area. Because of their large lot sizes, residents often construct large additions onto their existing homes. West Meade has some unique natural resources such as an 800+ acre contiguous forest with mature trees and spring fed creeks. A two mile stretch of Belle Meade Plantation’s original wall runs through West Meade, a reminder of Nashville’s history. |
