The highest of Nashville’s high-end real estate, Belle Meade was a plantation known for its thoroughbred horses in the 1800s. Featuring some of the most beautiful architecture in all of Nashville, Belle Meade is an expanse of sprawling estate lots, luscious lawns and stately trees. The City of Belle Meade features Belle Meade Plantation, Cheekwood Botanical Garden and Percy Warner Park, an 800+ acre park whose entrance is at the southern most end of Belle Meade Boulevard. Residents from all over the area flock to Belle Meade on the weekends to enjoy its natural beauty, bike, jog or hike its trails or simply enjoy a picnic. Belle Meade is a city within a city and has its own distinct signage, its own police force, city hall and special city services.
Though there are some opportunities for infill development in Belle Meade, new construction is often done on what remains of vacant lots. Renovation is very common in Belle Meade and residents frequently update or add on to their homes, with some families occupying their homes for generations. |
